Circle is a small tool for staying in touch. Here is exactly what it keeps and why.
What we store
- Your email address, used to sign you in and to send the reminders you turn on.
- Your time zone and email preferences.
- The people you add and the details you choose to enter: name, how often you want to be in touch, birthday, city, interests, and private notes.
- The catch-ups you log and the plans you make.
- A record of emails we sent you, so we never send the same one twice.
What we never connect to
Circle doesn't connect to your contacts, calendar, phone, text messages, WhatsApp, or any other account. Everything in Circle is something you typed in yourself.
Reminder emails contain only the basics: names, how long it has been, how often you want to be in touch, and plan dates. Notes, birth years, and cities never appear in an email. Every button in an email opens a confirmation page first, and nothing changes until you confirm. Every reminder has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Export and deletion
You can download everything as JSON or CSV from Settings at any time. Deleting your account removes your sign-in and every row of your data. We don't send an email when you delete your account.
Who can see it
Only you. Each record is tied to your account, and the database itself refuses to return one person's rows to another.
